Everyone knows the crude, arrogant, rough-voiced entertainer with the red scarf, but there is a mirror side to Aristide Bruant whom few knew existed. Behind the cruel laughter and the bantering, Bruant is a shy, serious man whose heart remained with the countryside in which he grew up. He adores the outdoors and enjoys gardening, bicycling, and caring for strays. He is generous to a fault, yearned for love and compassion, and admired honesty among all else.

There were also his darker points in which this drawings affects Bruant in his more dismal moods, staring off in angst and malaise of the swelling, swirling mixture of absinthe and red wine before him.

(Bruant et la fée verte is French for "Bruant and the Green Fairy." And listen his song of "Les canuts" HERE!)

Thank you! He's very much one of my favourite characters. He's a great character to RP with. Handsome, bitter, but charismatic.

"The green fairy who lives in the absinthe wants your soul...but you will be safe with me."

Come on Bruant...I won't hurt you (hides leash behind back)...much.

BTW, that quote is from Bram Stoker's Dracula.

I remember that scene, the seduction scene. Very erotic...even if the guy had hairy palms, lol.

Damn this guy is sexy... XD

Exceedingly good facial expressions, per usual. Yes, absinthe and Montmartre, lovely fin de siecle angsty lose-your-soul-in-the-filth atmospheres abound, LOL. God you HAVE to read Carole Nelson Douglas's new Irene Adler books, they're almost entirely in Paris. Read Irene At Large first, then read Chapel Noir, and then Castle Rouge. TRUST me. :) You're a Jack the Ripper freak like me, right? OMG just READ them. XD

BRWHAHAHA! Aristide is sexy! I was hoping that sex appeal would come out, hurrah, and it did!
Basically every woman in Montmartre had a crush on him, true story! One woman had "Bruant" tattooed on her buttock! I must draw that!

Yes, am I! Though personally, I don't say "Jack the Ripper freak"... :giggle: ...I'm a FREAKY RIPPEROLOGIST FREAK! ...well, just an amateur Ripperologist really, heeheehee...

I haven't read Carole Nelson Douglas' series since Irene's Last Waltz, years ago. This is all before she renamed everything because now Irene's Last Waltz was retitled Another Scandal in Bohemia. It just doesn't have the same UMPH as it did before. I've been meaning to catch up on the new books - namely Chapel Noir, Castle Rouge, and Spide Dance! Well, most of them are in Paris, but that's where she's hiding out - she can't get back to London because of that nosy Holmes!
