"I have business elsewhere, with a better class of person..."
With the upcoming release of film next year, I re-read the graphic novel, Watchmen, by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. I've been a fan of the novel for over seven years and it's just one of those books that gets better over time. I never thought this book would ever come to celluloid because, for the longest time, I felt the book was "unfilmable." When the trailer came out for Dark Knight, I was stood out of my chair and cheered in amazement and shock! Afterward, I wrote a synopsis of the character in my blog. It was high time I drew something to show my immense love before the film amassed a new following. If you haven't read the book, please do and check out the new trailer! (Doomsday Clock countdown until the movie premiere is a hundred days, huzzah! This is for Serrifth, the illustrious founder of Gunga Diner, and this is her favourite character, too! We did a little RP together. We made Rory cry... )
By day, Walter Joseph Kovacs, the abused son of a prostitute, is a disturbed, apathetic, vacant-faced, anti-communist, anti-liberal, right-wing paranoid absolutistic and objectivistic alexithymic who is always seen carrying a sign about him that reads "The End is Nigh" and, by night, he becomes the ruthless, uncompromising self-declared criminal investigator known as Rorschach, wearing an ink-blot mask which he considers his true face, who leads a one-man battle against crime long after costume vigilantes became both detested and illegal. He sees crimes as clearly defined as either right or wrong, good and evil, black and white; there is no grey area! It does not matter that you stole a loaf of bread to feed your family; you committed a crime and, as a criminal, should rightfully and violently punished!
(I drew this at two in the morning, coloured it at three, and posted it at four. I didn't feel like being a perfectionist about the colouring, but I rather like the messiness of it. This is the first time I've used gradient fill tool on anything. Aren't you proud?)
They are all completely Fabulous, and I love them all. Your art is so good and amazing, I love your ID Freddy and Rorschach <3 Anyways its all fantastic and I want to admire every single picture now
I hope you like the rest of my Nightmare on Elm Street works just as much, particularly "Innocent Demon" story. Love to hear any opinions and comments on it: [link]
