However, I can name a few scenes that were in the film that I enjoyed, as well.
Particularly the part with Nancy swimming through the blood, and the scene right afterwards with Freddy having Nancy pinned to the bed.
Though the remake's version of Freddy didn't quite captivate me, there were some scenes that kept me from being truly disappointed.
For what the film was, I still enjoyed it. My favourite NIGHTMARE film is actually WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE (1994), which was (in its way) a reboot of the original 1984 film, that brought Freddy back to his scarier roots. You can probably imagine my disappoint when FREDDY VS. JASON went back to the clown. So I was soooooooo ready for the reboot to bring the character back to his darker roots and, for the most part, it worked well. If they fixed the flaws and returned the "risker" scenes back, I think it would have made a larger impression on people. It's really the executives that did not want the film to depart too much from the 1984 classic; the director himself wanted to add newer things. The film really suffered through Hollywood politics, sadly.
Just wanna ask too. Can you explain the reason why you don't like Jason Voorhees and FVJ I guess?
